Coburn explodes for 36 points as Samsung snaps 22-game road losing streak

The Seoul Samsung has ended a long losing streak.

Samsung won a 99-94 regular-season road game against Suwon KT of the 2023-2024 Korean Basketball League on Wednesday at KT Sonic Boom Arena in Suwon.

The win snapped a six-game losing streak and a 22-game road losing streak, the longest in KBL history.

Foreign big man Kofi Coburn dominated the paint, scoring 36 points and grabbing 20 rebounds to lead his team to victory. Kofi Coburn shot a whopping 81% from the field (17-of-21 attempts).

The Korean roster was unusually well rounded. Hong Kyung-ki, a veteran guard recently acquired from Seoul SK, scored 13 points, including three three-pointers, while Lee Won-seok added 12 points and four rebounds. Lee Dong-yeop and Lee Jung-hyun added 10 points each.

KT has lost two straight after a six-game winning streak. Paris Bass and Han Hee-won led the offense with 31 and 20 points, respectively, but the absence of Heo Hoon was painful. Heo suffered a broken nose after colliding with Lee Won-seok early in the third quarter. He scored 10 points in about 17 minutes before going down with the injury.

Samsung added a win for the first time in a long time, improving to 4-0 on the season (16 losses) and paving the way for an escape from the bottom of the standings. It moved to within 0.5 games of ninth-place Daegu Kogas (4-15), which lost 88-93 to Busan KCC earlier in the day.

KCC won the second overtime game, led by Ragan-ah, who finished with 21 points and 21 rebounds. Heo Woong scored 16 points, including five three-pointers, while Choi Jun-yong added 15 points and 12 rebounds to help his team to victory.

Wonju DB, featuring wing Doo Kyung-min, secured a 91-82 home win over Seoul SK.

Playing his first game of the season after shaking 토토사이트 off an injury, former MVP guard Doo Kyung-min marked his return with eight points, including two three-pointers, in 11 minutes of action.

Dedrick Lawson's 28-point, eight-assist, seven-rebound performance was the difference-maker against Jamil Warney, who was held to 18 points. Riding a four-game winning streak, DB remained atop the standings with an 18-3 record.
