Guangdong's Taiyun, who played in the second team match, says

Tae-yoon "Tae-yoon" Kim of the Guangdong Freaks Challengers talks about his victory on the LCK CL stage.

Guangdong defeated the 2024 LCK Challengers League Springer Peerless Youth 2-0 at the WDG Esports Studio inside the Daehan Theater in Jung-gu, Seoul on March 23. Guangdong, who had won two straight games after showing a good flow after the opening match, showed a good performance on this day. The team looked threatening from the lane to the mid lane and in the top lane to secure a clean victory over Fiercex.

This was Guangdong's first three-match win streak since the LCK CL Bo3 revamp. However, it was Kim Tae-yoon who made the most noise. Playing in the LCK CL after the shutdown, Kim Tae-yoon played well and led his team to victory. In a post-match interview, he said, "I prepared for a day, but I'm glad I won," and added, "It's good to win, and it's good to get a POG after a long time." He expressed his feelings about the victory.

As mentioned earlier, the win extended Guangdong's winning streak to three games. After sweeping T1 Esports Academy, which included Martin "Wreckless" Larsson, in their first match of the season, the team followed that up with a 2-0 sweep of the favorites, the Hanwha Life Esports Challengers, and a 2-0 sweep of Fnatic on the day to sit atop the leaderboard with three straight wins.

When asked about the secret to their three-game winning streak, Kim Tae-yoon said, "I didn't do the first two wins, but when I came and saw the team, I saw that the coaches were preparing a lot for the banfic," adding, "The players are also thinking about LoL. I think that's the result," he said, giving credit to his teammates for the winning streak.

On this day, Kim Tae-yoon suddenly joined the second team and played alongside supporter Son "Quantum" Jung-hwan. While there were a few moments where they were a bit creaky, they generally worked well together, including picking up bottom dives. In the first game 사설토토 against Calista, Kim Tae-yoon was able to save the day on several occasions with Son's Renata Glass W skill, Emergency Relief. When asked about it, Kim laughed and said, "I think it's basic," and added, "I praised him for doing what he had to do rather than 'Emergency Relief'."

Finally, Kim Tae-yoon thanked the fans for coming out to support him and promised to do better. He said, "Thank you for coming to see me play on short notice. I'll do a better job," he said, ending the interview.
