Ohtani hits 10 home runs in first outdoor at-bat since elbow surgery

Shohei Ohtani (29, Los Angeles Dodgers) has confirmed that he will play in the opening game of the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) season in Seoul.

According to MLB.com, ESPN, and others, Ohtani took outdoor batting practice at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona, on Wednesday (June 13).

It was the first time Ohtani has hit pitches on the field since undergoing elbow surgery last September.

Ohtani took 21 swings on the day and produced 10 home run balls.

Earlier this month, 카지노사이트 Ohtani said, "I'm doing well with my rehab schedule. I'm confident I'll be ready for Opening Day," and this time, he proved his health with action, not words.

"Overall, I felt really good, I swung the bat strongly and it led to good results," Ohtani reflected after the workout.

"It's the first time I've batted outdoors since then, so I was a little cautious, but overall I'm happy with it. I think I'm over the injury," he said.

"I think it's a good sign for me to be ready for the season opener," he said.

The official opening game of this year's Major League Baseball season will be held on March 20 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro-gu, Seoul.

The Dodgers will play a two-game series against the San Diego Padres, of which Kim is a member, on March 20 and 21 at Gocheok Dome.

Ohtani, a two-hitter, signed a 10-year, $700 million contract with the Dodgers after last season and will play exclusively as a catcher this year.
