Throughout its narrative, BLOODMONEY! explores weighty topics like ethics, individuality, and the toll that violence takes on society. Rather than being depicted as a stereotypical villain, the protagonist is shown as a multi-faceted character whose life is ensnared in a violent and secretive occupation. Players start to grasp the emotional weight of their decisions through oblique narrative cues and contextual details. Pieces of a bigger narrative—one that probes the origins of control, loyalty, and redemption—are revealed through client encounters, mission briefings, and flashbacks. An opportunity to practice one's abilities and think about the results of one's choices is presented by every contract. The protagonist becomes increasingly disengaged as the player progresses through the game, making it harder to distinguish between duty and conscience.
