Google Breaker Block is based on the old arcade games, such as Atari Breakout, which was first published by Atari in 1976. Both are games in which one has to break bricks by throwing an object that is a ball using a paddle. Google has also had occasions of having hidden versions of Breakout in its search engine in tribute to the original arcade concept.
