The irony of "care and quality" debt collection from Wellington Capital Partners is not lost on me.

I need to vent and see if anyone has been through something similar. I recently started getting calls from Wellington Capital Partners LLC about an old debt. At first, I thought maybe it wouldn't be so bad because their whole marketing schtick is about being respectful, professional, and having this "consumer care" philosophy with 30+ years of experience. Their voicemails are very polite.

But the reality of their calls is completely different. They are calling relentlessly. I’ve counted over 10 calls in a single day before. I made the mistake of answering once, and the representative was rude, talked over me, and threatened that they could escalate things if I didn't "cooperate." It felt intentionally intimidating.

The gap between their "professional image" and their actual tactics is jarring. I started digging and found out they have a history of complaints with the BBB (over 20 in the last few years, and they are not accredited) and there's even a recent federal lawsuit against them for FDCPA violations.

It's clear their "care and quality" claims are just a marketing line. I’m documenting every call now. I found this article that outlines exactly what they are and aren't allowed to do, which has been helpful: Stop Wellington Capital Partners LLC Debt Collection Harassment

I’m planning to send a formal debt validation letter first to see if they can even prove this debt is mine. If the calls continue after that, I'm considering a cease and desist. Has anyone had any success getting them to back off? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
